Yucha Pak was born in Seoul, Korea where, at an early age, she studied classical Asian art under her grandfather. Encouraged by her grandfather, a farmer, a man with a passion for art and the process of making pictures (he made his own brushes) Yucha continued her art studies, first in Korea. And then, after immigrating to the United States, she continued her studied at the Florida Institute of Technology, receiving her diploma in fine art. |
Yucha began showing her work publicly in 1975 by entering competitive exhibitions. Her work has been accepted and shown in many regional and national juried exhibitions and has won numerous awards including first place in watercolor from Barbara Haskell, curator of the Whitney Museum in New York City.
Since 1980 her work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States. In 1990 she moved to New york City for three years to study priontmaking and contemporary art at the Student Art League of New york City.
Presently, she is living in Houston, Texas- in the Heights where she has a studio and continues studying printmaking and mixed media at the Glasselll School of art.
